Keeping track of your time posting in Osprey and maximising billable time is easier with the new time tracker tool. Always accessible in the top right of the software and a handy calendar view helps you stay on track.

When you click the Time Tracker, the timer drawer opens showing the postings and timers for the day, with a date picker to view previous postings. You can switch between Timers and Time ledger postings. To start a new timer choose New timer, to post a time entry select Post time

Choosing to start a new timer defaults to the currently selected matter however you can click the cross to search for another or choose to run with no matter selected (Blank Matter).
Click Start Timer to start it running.

As the timer is running you may pause and restart it as needed.

Clicking the timer will present you with the options to post the timer. Choose the desired matter, fee earner, date, hourly rate (Remuneration ID) and activity. Enter an attendance note if needed and click Post Timer.

Clicking Post Timer will complete the posting.
Should you choose Post time you will select the correct fee earner, date, hourly rate (Remuneration ID) and activity. The rate will calculate, enter the number or units or minutes. The value will calculate. You may Add new activity and repeat if needed. Enter an attendance note if needed and click Post Time.

Please note you can still post time from the time recording menu
With your required client loaded, click Time Recording in the side menu to navigate to the Time Ledger.

You will have the option to either post a single time entry or multiple time entries.

Upon clicking Single Entry, you will be able to enter your posting details and click Post to post to the time ledger, or Save and Print to post to the time ledger and create a printable copy of the time posting.

You also have the option to post multiple entries if you wish. Upon clicking this, the time posting screen will list all of the available remuneration types – In the below example, we can see that there are several available for this particular worktype. Both activity ID and description will be displayed.

Simply fill these in as you normally would and then click the Post button.
Printing the time ledger
A printable copy of the ledger can be produced from Time Recording > Print.

You will be able to select a range of criteria, such as fee earner, remuneration, and date ranges to show within your print out.

Select Run
A preview window will appear, allowing the user to export the report to PDF, CSV or XLS
Undoing a time posting
Time postings cannot be amended once created. If the posting is incorrect, you will need to undo the posting, and resubmit it.
To undo a posting, click the Undo icon. A confirmation screen will appear.

Time record using timesheets
You can also time record using Osprey’s timesheet functionality.
This allows you to either create, or upload, a table of time recorded. Visit the relevant guides for further information.
