Osprey Academy - Customer Support & Training

Using Osprey

Learn how to use Osprey to manage your day-to-day operations and processes

Who is this guide for?

Any Users

This guide will take you through using the Osprey training site.

Before you begin

Before using the training site, we recommend that you have completed both the Getting Started and Fundamental Osprey training courses. If you haven’t attended these sessions, please register here.

Logging in

Log in using the username you have been given. For your fist log in you will need to reset your password, details on how to do this can be found here.

About the training site

Your Osprey training site will function in the same way as you have seen in your training so you can practice and get familiar with the environment.

Please note that this is a training environment. This means that some configuration settings may not be reflective of your firm’s requirements. For example, you may not see all your work types or time recording options. Please be assured your Osprey solution at go live will be configured exactly to your firm’s needs.

Log in using the username you have been given. For your fist log in you will need to reset your password, details on how to do this can be found here.

Recommended practice activities

You can use the training site to complete all your usual client and matter management activities you normally complete on a day-to-day basis.
We would recommend you try to:

  • Add a new client and matter
  • Familiarising yourself with the client and matter workspaces
  • Using the search functionality
  • Run a workflow and some tasks within it
  • Run a document
  • Raise a requisition
  • Add a key date
  • Record time

We also recommend having the training site ready to follow along with in your training sessions.

Workflows

Workflows have been added at a matter level to avoid confusion, this may differ slightly to your main site when you go live, as some generic compliance or operational workflows such as file review or AML risk assessment will be available on all matters.

To test a workflow, you will firstly need to create a matter on the correct work type, e.g. Personal injury or Litigation. When you navigate to the workflow screen if a workflow is not already loaded you will be able to load a corresponding workflow from the available list. Find out more here.

Important notes

Any work carried out in the training site will not be reflected in your main Osprey site when you go live. This creates a perfect environment to test things repeatedly and learn how to use Osprey.

Please do not add real client data, files or time recording into the training site. This will not be migrated over to your site at go live. This is purely to test and use for training purposes.

Training Support

To assist you during the training phase, we will host open Q&A session via Microsoft Teams. These are dedicated slots for anyone in your firm to drop-in and ask for help or guidance from our onboarding specialist.

You’ll also have access to our online Academy which houses hundreds of how-to guides.
