CRM6 Youth Court changes – December 2024

Who is this guide for?

Accounts Users, Accounts Supervisors, Case Workers and Case Management Supervisors

This guide will assist you with coding up your Youth Court matters following the LAA changes in December 2024

Matter Setup

Set your matter as usual for a proceedings matter, with the remuneration type of CRIMRMC – PROE/F/J/K/L/W, YOUE/F/K/L/X/Y: Representation in the Magistrates or Youth Court. The matter will need a UFN, and time recorded as per a regular proceedings claim.

Proceedings Page

In the Proceedings page, ensure that the Youth Court option is set to Yes. If the Representation Order date is on or after 6th December 2024, you will need to choose one of the new Stage Reached codes published by the LAA. These will have been added for you and are as follows:

  • YOUE – Youth Representation Order (undesignated area) Lower Standard Fee
  • YOUF – Youth Representation Order (undesignated area) Higher Standard Fee
  • YOUK – Youth Representation Order (designated area) Lower Standard Fee
  • YOUL – Youth Representation Order (designated area) Higher Standard Fee
  • YOUX – Youth Representation Order (undesignated area) Second claim for deferred sentence (can be a higher or lower standard fee)
  • YOUY – Youth Representation Order (designated area) Second claim for deferred sentence (can be a lower or higher standard fee)

There are also new Standard Fee Categories. These will need to be selected alongside the new YOU_ codes and are as follows.

For YOUE, YOUF, YOUK and YOUL:

  • 1A
  • 1B
  • 2A
  • 2B

and for YOUX and YOUY:

  • 1A-LSF
  • 1B-LSF
  • 1A-HSF
  • 1B-HSF

Matter Type / Offence Code are not applicable for codes YOUX/YOUY, and only 01 – 16 are accepted for YOUE/YOUF/YOUK/YOUL.

Outcome code must be one of CP01 – CP26, excluding CP14, CP15 and CP19.
